About BA CityFlyer

BA CityFlyer's operations are primarily based at London City Airport, although the airline's headquarters are found in Didsbury, South Manchester. Another base of operations for BA CityFlyer is Edinburgh Airport. BA CityFlyer's IATA airline designator is DJ, while its ICAO code is CFE. The airline's call sign is "Flyer". As a subsidiary, BA CityFlyer uses the same branding, aircraft livery and logo as British Airways. Its fleet consists of six Embraer 170 and eight Embraer 190 aircraft, with three additional Embraer 190 aircraft added to the fleet in 2014. Eastern Airways operates Saab 2000 aircraft on behalf of BA CityFlyer.

BA CityFlyer emerged following the sale of BA Connect to Flybe in 2007. Also headquartered in Manchester, BA Connect operated as a subsidiary of British Airways. Its network included destinations throughout the UK and across Europe, with all flights operated on behalf of British Airways. The sale to the regional airline did not include BA Connect's London City Airport operations and aircraft based at the airport, including 10 Avro RJ100 jets. BA CityFlyer began operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of British Airways in March 2007. By 2009, its fleet of Avro RJ85 and Avro RJ100 aircraft were replaced with modern Embraer airliners.

BA CityFlyer operates a network of domestic and European services. The airline links London City Airport with 18 destinations in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. Destinations include Nice (seasonal), Angers (seasonal), Chambery (seasonal), Quimper (seasonal), Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Venice, Amsterdam, Faro (seasonal), Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, Malaga, Ibiza, Minorca (seasonal), Granada, Stockholm, Geneva (seasonal), and Zurich. In March 2014, BA CityFlyer commenced flights to Florence and Rotterdam. Domestically, the airline flies between London City Airport and Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. BA CityFlyer also links London with the Isle of Man. BA CityFlyer also provides charter flights for holiday tour operators to Portugal, Spain and Italy from regional airports in the UK, including Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
